Nora Gordon is a former Senior Program Officer at CIC. Prior to joining CIC, she was the Special Assistant to the Ambassador of Afghanistan to the UN. In this role she was the primary adviser and speechwriter for the Ambassador and advised him in his capacity as Chair of Intergovernmental Negotiations on Security Council Reform. Ms. Gordon has worked and consulted on peacebuilding and conflict resolution projects in Syria, the West Bank, Timor-Leste, Liberia, Rwanda, and Brazil for a number of organizations including Columbia University’s Center for International Conflict Resolution, the Women's Refugee Commission, the University of Michigan’s William Davidson Institute, and the US Institute of Peace. Nora holds a Master’s from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a BA in Peace and Conflict Studies from UC Berkeley.
