The Manager will work directly with the Director of Finance & Operations to oversee personnel and operating needs for the Center on International Cooperation (CIC).
The Manager will act as strategic partner to Academic Appointments, Human Resources, and Office of Global Services to ensure that CIC’s research and other personnel needs are met, in legal compliance, and adhering to university and school policies. Coordinate with other various NYU departments, such as procurement and risk/insurance, to ensure that CIC is in full compliance with all purchasing activities. Act as a key point of contact between the CIC Senior Management Team and external NYU departments to facilitate key decisions and actions. Lead various projects and strategic initiatives to ensure that CIC remains a results-oriented organization within a large institution, including effort reporting systems. With a solutions focused mindset, take initiative and lead projects to improve operating capacity and drive positive change.

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration, or related field; or or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years experience overseeing operations activities in a not-for-profit or NGO setting.
- Experience with nonprofit administration, operations, and human resources
- Fund accounting
- Working within a global organization and handling international financial transactions
- Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Excellent Interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships, and to effectively represent CIC both internally at NYU and externally with donors
- Understanding of non-profit/academic operating and appointment processes, specifically in CIC’s space (international development, human rights, think-tanks, etc.)
- Analytical skills and ability to solve problems creatively
- General familiarity with compliance issues related to contracts, risk/insurance, and human resources
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in writing effective grant proposals
- Solid Excel skills and a general understanding of operating budgets
