Commentary: The Dilemma Of Moving Primary Education To Mosques In Afghanistan
CIC non-resident fellow Said Sabir Ibrahimi wrote about a recent proposal by Afghanistan's Education Ministry to include Islam in the country's education ecosystem, which includes transferring primary education to mosques.
"This move has little positive impact on the quality or quantity of education in the country," Ibrahimi wrote. "Islam has been part of the education system for as long as there has been education. Stakeholders should focus on improving the quality and quantity of the existing formal education system."
